Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited NP/PA program and state license.
• Experience in a correctional setting is preferred but not required.
• Maintain licensure and credentialing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Responds to medical emergencies throughout the facility.
• Identifies health problems and prescribes treatment under a physician.
• Implements medical care using regimens approved by a physician.
• Provides education to inmate/patient, staff, and correctional personnel.
• Documents all healthcare contacts and adheres to safety policies.
• Follows security regulations for keys, sharps, and controlled meds.
• Delegates to and supervises other team members as appropriate.
• Adheres to universal precautions and infection control practices.
• Attends training and meetings as required.
