Colorado Department of Corrections seeks a qualified Social Worker/Counselor II to provide professional mental health services to inmates at Sterling Correctional Facility. The role includes evaluations, diagnostic assessments, therapy, crisis intervention, and coordination of continuity of care with receiving units while maintaining thorough clinical documentation.

Ideal candidates hold Colorado licensure in social work or counseling, with experience in a correctional setting preferred.

Qualifications

  • Licensed professionals must hold Colorado license in field (LSW/LCSW/LPCC/LMFTC/ADDC).
  • Current, valid full license from Colorado in relevant field meets requirements.
  • Complete Work Experience section in application; resumes may not substitute.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional mental health services to inmates including evaluations, assessments, and gender-affirming care.
  • Deliver group, individual therapy and crisis intervention; participate in 24-hour Mental Health On-Call Rotation.
  • Ensure continuity of care by coordinating referrals and transferring information to receiving units/facilities.
  • Document care in inmate mental health records accurately and timely.
  • Promote safety and security within clinical and correctional environments; report safety concerns as required.
