Job summary

UTMB Health's Correctional Managed Care division seeks a Social Service Regular to provide case management, counseling, and social/habilitative services to patients under supervision in a secure facility.

You will work with psychologists, mental health staff, and program services to coordinate care, monitor patient status, and support aftercare planning, while contributing to QA/QM initiatives and policy compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Mental Health/Behavioral Science.
Criminal Justice degree with 15 hours of psychology, social work and/or counseling coursework and two years of mental health case management experience.

Responsibilities

Contributes to the success of UTMB Correctional Managed Care organization.
Assesses and documents a patient's mental health needs.
Monitors behavior, mental status and medication compliance; makes referrals.
May administer and score psychometric tests under supervision.
Liaises with patients, families, and on-site departments to coordinate treatment and aftercare.
Conducts supervised individual and group counseling and psychoeducational training.
Assists in QA/QM programs and policy compliance.
Performs related duties as required.
