Portsmouth Sheriff's Office is currently seeking a motivated and dedicated Food Service Worker to join our team. PSO's Facility Culinary Services Specialist is responsible for preparing and/or serving meals while adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures.

The role has a rotating shift with some weekends required, and the Sheriff’s Office is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Able to pass a background check.
• Food safety certification required or obtainable.
• ServSafe certification preferred.
• Previous food service experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Experience with bulk cooking preferred.
• Experience in institutional food service is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Provide meal service within a secure correctional environment.
• Prepare and serve food items according to standardized recipes and directions.
• Store food properly following safety policies and procedures.
• Set up workstations, prep tables, service counters, hot wells, steam tables, etc.
• Break down, clean and sanitize workstations.
• Serve meals to residents, ensuring satisfaction and anticipating needs.
• Replenish food items and maintain stock at appropriate levels.
• Maintain excellent customer service and a positive attitude toward guests and coworkers.
• Adhere to facility safety policies and food sanitation procedures.
• Ensure security of company assets.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
