Job summary

The State of Oklahoma is seeking a Correctional Teacher to deliver educational programs to inmates within a correctional facility. The role requires a bachelor’s degree and a current Oklahoma Teaching Certificate. You will teach a range of elementary and secondary subjects, plan curricula, and maintain proper records.

Position is full-time, with compensation based on education and experience. Expect collaboration with DOC Education staff and involvement in staff meetings and professional

Qualifications

  • Ability to supervise and instruct pupils; establish cooperative relationships; oral and written communication.
  • Develop and present a curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts classes in elementary or secondary school subjects; prepares reports and attendance records.
  • Plans and lays out courses of study; provides instructions and evaluates students.
  • Creates instructional materials and offers guidance to students as needed.
  • Maintains classroom and corridor discipline; plans and supervises activities.
  • Attends teachers meetings and participates in planning the school program.
  • Maintains inventory of books and supplies.
  • Participates in staff meetings and staff development sessions.
