Job summary

Florida Department of Corrections is seeking an Education Supervisor I-SES to lead the Adult Education and Career and Technical Education programs at Lowell Correctional Institution. The role oversees education staff, curriculum development, and compliance within the Education Department.

The position requires a master’s degree, a Florida Professional Educator’s Certificate, and two years of teaching experience, with eligibility to add administrative coverage areas within 36 months; on-site

Qualifications

Master's degree from an accredited college/university.
Two (2) years of teaching experience.
Must possess a current State of Florida Professional Educator’s Certificate.
Must possess or be willing to add at least one administrative coverage area within 36 months of appointment (e.g., school principal, administration of adult education, local director of vocational education, or educational leadership).

Responsibilities

Supervise and manage education staff, including hiring, training, evaluating, and disciplining employees.
Plan, organize, and direct Adult Education and Career and Technical Education programs at the correctional institution/facility.
Counsel inmates on educational concerns and personal or family problems.
Prepare and administer the education department budget, ensuring proper and legal administration of funds.
Ensure compliance with education standards and maintain education buildings and equipment; schedule staff training.
