Qualifications

  • DDS or DMD required for dental practice.
  • Three (3) years’ related experience recommended.
  • Florida Dental License (DDS or DMD), DEA Certification required.
  • Maintain credentials per licensure, certification and registration requirements.
  • CPR – BLS or ACLS Certification required.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license required.
  • Credit check is part of the consideration process.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat inmate dental conditions under the Dental Supervisor.
  • Perform emergency and routine drilling, filling, and extractions per policy.
  • Maintain accurate EMR and ensure patient confidentiality.
  • Provide preventive and restorative dental care and develop treatment plans.
  • Ensure compliance with NCCHC, ACA, FMJS, and related laws and directives.
  • Offer dental education to nurses and staff and coordinate exams within one year of admission.
