Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) seeks a Chaplain at the East Mississippi Correctional Facility in Meridian, MS. You will oversee religious programs, conduct services, provide pastoral care, and supervise religious education in compliance with ACA standards, MTC policies, and MDOC directives.

You will build community partnerships, mentor volunteers, and counsel offenders on spiritual and personal matters, promoting positive social skills and institutional adjustment while maintaining

Qualifications

• Ecclesiastical endorsement or ordination required.
• Two years religious or related experience required.
• Valid driver’s license in Mississippi with acceptable driving record, unless waived.

Responsibilities

• Create, manage, and implement religious programs for the facility.
• Conduct religious services and religious education programs.
• Serve as the point of contact for outside faith-based activities.
• Develop and supervise community volunteers for chaplaincy programs.
• Provide chaplaincy visitation rounds to offenders, including critically ill.
• Counsel offenders on religious or personal issues and crisis situations.
• Promote positive social skills and appropriate behaviors among offenders.
• Maintain accountability of offenders and property, adhering to safety practices.
