The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction is seeking a Correctional Behavioral Specialist I at Maury Correctional Institution in Hookerton, NC. Qualifications

• Proficient knowledge of fundamental principles, techniques and methods of behavior therapy including assessments, goal development and activities.
• Proficient knowledge of behavior management techniques.
• Working knowledge of population served and area requirements.
• Demonstrated skills in writing goals and programs.
• Proven ability to plan and conduct leisure/rehabilitative activities.
• Proven ability to evaluate and document progress and present to Treatment Team.

Responsibilities

• Data entry, collection and reporting of clinical impressions for inmates.
• Assist in group or individual supportive counseling in activities.
• Monitor, maintain and inventory supplies used for programming.
• Set up testing situations in diagnostic center.
• Assist in aftercare planning under clinical supervision.
• Crisis intervention and referral to treatment staff as required.
