Job summary

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED with valid driver's license.
Successful completion of correction officer assessment or completed within the past 24 months.
Ability to pass pre-employment background checks and drug testing.

Responsibilities

Maintain control of the institution to provide safety and security for inmates, staff, and the public by enforcing rules and procedures.
Supervise and direct inmate activity in assigned areas of the facility.
Ensure assigned areas are clean, safe, and secure; monitor security controls and equipment.
Operate automated systems and transport vehicles as required for perimeter security and inmate transportation.
Conduct inmate counts and security rounds; complete required reports and participate on committees.
