Job summary

UMB Financial Corporation in Virginia seeks a senior Corporate Trust professional to lead complex client relationships within institutional trusts. You will oversee non-routine support, ensure accurate system setups, and respond to compliance matters while coordinating with senior staff and legal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• 5 years of related financial and/or customer relationship management experience
• Preferred: Master’s Degree
• Preferred: CCTS Certified Corporate Trust Specialist

Responsibilities

• Provide medium to complex/non-routine support to an assigned group of clients with trustee relationships
• Interact with all levels of customer relationships
• Ensure accurate/timely setup of issues on all systems and prepare accounts for compliance review
• Resolve complex administrative issues and support senior level client staff
• Support clients outside assigned group and operate independently to service the client
• Manage day-to-day institutional/corporate trust accounts including billing, transactions, cash monitoring and debt service calculations
• Act as subject matter expert and represent the team in projects and process improvements
• Provide guidance and mentorship to staff, especially Associate Relationship Manager
• Review legal documents for operational mechanics and coordinate with legal and compliance as needed
• Participate in cross-training to learn other Corporate Trust roles

Job description

Duties & Responsibilities

• This role will provide medium to complex/non-routine support/ownership to an assigned group of clients with trustee relationships.
• Interacts with all levels of customer relationships
• Responsible for accurate/timely setup of issues on all systems, preparing accounts for compliance review and responding appropriately to compliance exceptions
• Resolves complex administrative issues and provide support to senior level client staff
• May provide support to clients outside assigned group.
• Operate independently to service the client and resolve complex/unusual issues
• Provides day to day support to existing institutional/corporate trust accounts including but not limited to: billing for administrative fees, recommending fee increases, facilitating transaction closing, handling cash and investment transactions, monitoring cash activities and compliance items, providing debt service calculations, executing payment generation and follow-up, approving payments, dissemination of financial information and administration of the trust as outlined in the governing documents.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and represent the team in ongoing projects and efficiencies.
• Provide guidance, mentorship and development to all levels of staff, particularly the assigned Associate Relationship Manager
• Recommend and submit new business for approval from the new business committee made up of the senior leadership team in Corporate Trust Price business based on account structure compared to existing business working with Business Development Officer as needed
• Review legal documents to ensure operational mechanics are appropriate
• Work with corporate legal, compliance and outside legal counsel to negotiate document provisions
• Participate in cross training to learn other Corporate Trust roles and provide support, as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements MINIMUM

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• 5 years of related financial and/or customer relationship management experience

Compensation Range: $81,864 - $120,406
