Hire Consulting Services in Phoenix is seeking a hands-on Tax Manager who will take full ownership of the income tax function. You will lead the tax provision process for financial reporting, oversee return preparation with external preparers and internal staff, and coach a team of tax accountants. You will also improve processes, controls, and service levels.

Bring a strong background in federal, state, and local tax, plus 6+ years of experience. CPA or Master's in Taxation are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 6+ years of tax experience in public accounting or corporate environment.
• Strong federal, state, and local tax knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.

Responsabilités

• Lead and develop tax accountants through coaching, supervision, and feedback.
• Own the quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision.
• Oversee federal and state income tax return calculations and filings.
• Review FIN 48 and UNICAP positions.
• Respond to notices and inquiries from taxing authorities.
• Work directly with internal and external auditors.
• Research and deliver tax information requested by management and outside parties.
• Support related areas such as sales tax, property tax, payroll tax and incentives.
• Map, document, and re-engineer tax processes to improve efficiency, controls, and metrics.

You'll also be accountable for continuously improving how the work gets done, including process design, quality, controls, risk, and service levels.

What You'll Do

• Lead and develop tax accountants through coaching, supervision, and feedback

• Review FIN 48 and UNICAP positions
• Respond to notices and inquiries from taxing authorities

What You Bring
