Job summary

Genie Matthews and Associates is seeking a hands-on Tax Manager to own the income tax function. You will lead the tax provision process for financial reporting, oversee return preparation with external firms and internal staff, and coach a team of tax accountants.

You will design and improve tax processes, manage risk and service levels, and collaborate with auditors and management on tax matters, including state and local incentives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 6+ years of tax experience in public accounting or corporate environment.
• Strong federal, state, and local tax knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• A motivated, take-charge attitude.
• Plus: CPA, Master's in Taxation, or related industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Map, document, and re-engineer tax processes to improve efficiency, controls, and metrics.
