  • Prepares written briefings related to prospective companies, CPIC's year-end reports, and other CPIC related reports and newsletters.
  • Sources information and produces a student-facing weekly announcement of corporate and relevant department events for CPIC.
  • Additionally, produces a monthly newsletter for CPIC partners which highlights department events and news.

Job Description Summary

Organization's Summary Statement:

The Department of Computer Science is top-ranked for research and teaching, with its undergraduate computer science program ranked 9th among public universities by U.S. News & World Report. The undergraduate program currently educates over 4,000 students from around the world. The graduate program ranks 16th in the nation (9th among public institutions), with over 400 graduate students enrolled. Our faculty have been recognized with memberships in the National Academy of Engineering, fellowships in professional scientific organizations including ACM and IEEE, NSF Faculty Early Career Development awards and Sloan Fellowships.

Position Summary:

As a member of the External Relations team, under the supervision of the Director of Corporate Partnership Development, this position will be responsible for contributing as needed to the successful completion of projects and events for the Corporate Partners in Computing (CPIC) program and other external relations activities. This position plays an integral role in supporting the team's activities, including planning and executing corporate sponsored career/internship recruiting events, managing CPIC member services, coordinating research meetings with industry, and collaborating with senior administrators on various tasks.

Due to the nature of the work, this position requires the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, on a regular basis.

Specific responsibilities include: Plans and executes corporate student events, speaker series, and other events targeted to students for CPIC. Physical Demands: Work takes place in both an office environment and in on-campus buildings. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time performing general office functions with periods of standing for event setup, registration, and event supervision. Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb stairs, push and reach with arms. Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 lbs. and arrange furniture for events. Will be required to attend evening or weekend events and ability to travel to on and off campus event locations.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: One (1) year of professional program, outreach, or event coordination experience.

Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledge of outreach and marketing strategies.

Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing and record-keeping.

Skill in oral and written communication.

Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products.

Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments.
