Overview

An established manufacturer serving highly regulated markets such as Nuclear, Military, and Aerospace is seeking a Corporate Process Quality Manager to lead a company-wide initiative focused on process control, quality culture, and structured problem solving. This role provides technical direction to manufacturing departments and drives sustainable process improvements on the shop floor, ensuring alignment with customer requirements including NADCAP and AS9001 standards.

What you'll do

• Partner with the Director of Quality and Corporate Quality Assurance Manager to build and implement a best-in-class quality culture
• Lead company-wide continuous improvement efforts emphasizing problem solving, process control, collaboration, and teamwork
• Support and strengthen the Corrective Action Request (CAR) system by building teams and gaining buy-in for improvement initiatives
• Communicate the importance of process control to employees at all organizational levels
• Serve as a visible, hands-on leader driving quality culture through direct engagement in implementation and execution, including integration into training and organizational development
• Champion data-driven quality improvement initiatives and lead high-visibility problem-solving events
• Build strong relationships across the organization to achieve best-in-class performance
• Maintain high engagement with sales and production leaders
• Ensure technical resources such as facilitation, statistical analysis, and Six Sigma tools are available and applied to quality improvement efforts
• Support internal and external supplier quality audits and layered process audits
• Own and maintain internal quality systems including non-conformance control, deviation systems, and corrective action systems
• Lead development and maintenance of company-wide quality metrics, including daily collaboration meetings
• Coordinate resources to resolve real-time in-process quality issues
• Provide engineering support to operations for consistent application of quality techniques during investigation and resolution of non-conformances or process issues
• Participate in developing Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and control plans for key processes and customer projects
• Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities to determine appropriate measurement systems and tools for new products or processes
• Collaborate with Sales, Process Engineering, and subject matter experts to review manufacturability and recommend modifications to part specifications and tolerances for cost-effective production
• Support data acquisition and analysis using standard quantitative statistical methods to facilitate process improvements
• Ensure timely, complete responses to internal and external customer needs
• Initiate and support continuous improvement and lean initiatives on the shop floor
• Coach, counsel, plan, monitor, and appraise results for direct reports or interns as assigned
• Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned
• Travel overnight as necessary

Required qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Metallurgy (or equivalent)
• Minimum of 7 years quality leadership experience with hands-on shop floor continuous improvement success
• Six Sigma Black Belt certification with multiple completed projects
• Qualified Lead Auditor in quality systems such as ISO 9001:2008 or AS9100
• Strategic orientation combined with hands-on, practical expertise
• Excellent listening, communication, and organizational skills; strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of Minitab
• Technical skills including APQP, FMEA, 8-D structured problem solving, 6S and lean tools, value stream mapping (VSM), TPM, root cause analysis, statistics, and GD&T

Preferred qualifications

• Certified Quality Engineer (ASQ) preferred
• Experience in the metals industry and/or metallurgy knowledge preferred
