Job description

Titan America is seeking an experienced Corporate Manager, Structural Engineering to provide enterprise-wide leadership for structural engineering across our manufacturing and production facilities. Based in Medley, Florida, this role serves as the company's subject matter expert for the structural integrity, assessment, repair, and design of industrial facilities supporting our cement, aggregates, ready-mix concrete, and related operations.

Working closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and capital project teams, this position provides technical leadership that ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical infrastructure while supporting capital investments, modernization initiatives, and long-term asset reliability.

The ideal candidate brings significant structural engineering experience within the cement industry or a closely related heavy industrial environment and possesses a practical understanding of large industrial structures operating under demanding conditions.

This position requires approximately 40% travel throughout Titan America's operations along the U.S. East Coast, partnering directly with plant leadership and project teams to evaluate assets, support capital projects, and provide on-site engineering expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as Titan America's corporate technical authority for structural engineering across all operating companies.
  • Lead structural evaluations of industrial facilities, including concrete and steel structures, foundations, silos, process towers, conveyor systems, buildings, stacks, and other critical infrastructure.
  • Conduct routine site visits to assess structural conditions, identify risks, recommend corrective actions, and support long-term asset reliability.
  • Develop engineering solutions for structural repairs, rehabilitation, and facility improvements that enhance safety, reliability, and operational performance.
  • Support capital projects from concept development through commissioning by providing structural engineering expertise during planning, design, construction, and startup.
  • Perform or lead structural inspections, condition assessments, failure investigations, and root cause analyses.
  • Develop and maintain corporate engineering standards, specifications, inspection programs, and best practices for structural assets.
  • Review structural calculations, engineering drawings, specifications, and contractor deliverables to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Partner with plant engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to prioritize structural repairs and manage infrastructure-related risks.
  • Provide technical support during emergency situations involving structural failures or unexpected equipment and facility issues.
  • Manage relationships with external engineering consultants, contractors, and specialty inspection firms.
  • Identify opportunities to improve structural reliability, reduce lifecycle costs, and support continuous improvement initiatives across Titan America's operations.
  • Stay current with applicable engineering codes, emerging technologies, and industry best practices relevant to heavy industrial structural engineering.
  • Promote Titan America's commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering required.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required or the ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible structural engineering experience supporting heavy industrial operations.
  • Demonstrated experience within the cement industry or closely related industries such as aggregates, mining, lime, steel, power generation, chemicals, pulp and paper, or other continuous-process manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete and structural steel design, industrial foundations, and heavy industrial infrastructure.
  • Experience evaluating structures subjected to vibration, dynamic loading, thermal cycling, material handling systems, and other demanding industrial operating conditions.
  • Experience supporting large capital projects, plant expansions, and infrastructure rehabilitation programs.
  • Working knowledge of ACI, AISC, ASCE, OSHA, applicable building codes, and relevant engineering standards.
  • Proficiency with structural analysis and engineering software.
  • Strong project management, technical communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 40% throughout Titan America's operations along the U.S. East Coast.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering.
  • Direct experience supporting cement manufacturing operations.
  • Experience with structural condition assessments, nondestructive testing, and forensic engineering investigations.
  • Familiarity with kiln structures, preheater towers, bulk material handling systems, rotating equipment foundations, storage silos, and industrial concrete rehabilitation.
  • Experience managing engineering consultants and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering projects.

Success in This Role

The successful candidate will be recognized as Titan America's trusted structural engineering expert, combining strong technical capability with practical field experience and collaborative leadership. This individual will work closely with plant teams across the organization to improve the safety, integrity, reliability, and longevity of Titan America's critical infrastructure while supporting strategic capital investments and operational excellence.
