ABB's internship program offers hands-on experience across finance and accounting tasks within our global operations. You will support closing processes, analyze data, and build dashboards while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Eligibility requires enrollment in a US degree program and authorization to work without sponsorship.

The role is onsite/hybrid in Memphis, TN; Cary, NC; and St. Louis, MO, with no relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Finance or Accounting in the United States.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
• Reliable transportation to the worksite is required.

Responsabilités

• Support ABB’s operations and assist in month-end or quarter-end closing processes.
• Create financial dashboards and visualizations to communicate insights.
• Analyze financial data and prepare variance reports.
• Track actual spending against budget and identify variances.
• Conduct research on financial trends and benchmarks.
• Collaborate with teams to coordinate projects and ensure timely completion.
• Identify solutions for clients based on ABB’s offerings and customer needs.
• Participate in team meetings and seek feedback to improve performance.

This position reports to:

Senior Business Controller

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your skills by supporting ABB’s operations and enhancing your personal education/employment opportunities.

The work model for the role is onsite/hybrid in Memphis, TN; Cary, NC; and St. Louis, MO.

Please note that no relocation assistance or stipend will be offered for this position. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the office location. Candidates are expected to manage their own commuting arrangements.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Collaborating with various teams to support ABB’s operations, ensuring effective coordination and timely project completion within the defined timelines.
• Leveraging insights about customer needs and ABB’s offerings to identify suitable solutions for clients, leading to project results that meet customer expectations.
• Participating in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and other collaborative efforts.
• Seeking feedback and guidance from manager and team members to improve performance and skills.
• Support month-end or quarter-end closing processes.
• Help analyze financial data and create variance reports.
• Conduct research on financial trends and industry benchmarks.
• Track actual spending against budget and identify variances.
• Create financial dashboards and visualizations.

Qualifications for the role:

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master’s degree program in Finance, Accounting, or related fields in the United States.
• Intern must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite.

• Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions.
• Effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

The hourly rate is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications, graduation year and experience. This position is expected to pay between $20 - $34 per hour.
