The Corporate Development and Engagement Officer serves as part of a dynamic fundraising team cultivating an increased level of giving and engagement. The Corporate Development and Engagement Officer is responsible for researching, identifying, engaging, soliciting and stewarding corporations/organizations/foundations that align with the Foundation's mission, vision, values and support the strategic plan and goals.

This position is accountable for donor research, Moves Management, donor stewardship and engagement, database management and all necessary actions to achieve annual revenue targets.

JOB SUMMARY

The Corporate Development and Engagement Officer is responsible for researching, identifying, engaging, soliciting and stewarding corporations/organizations/foundations that align with the Foundation's mission, vision, values and support the strategic plan and goals.

This position is accountable for donor research, Moves Management, donor stewardship and engagement, database management and all necessary actions to achieve annual revenue targets.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Fund Development, Management and Stewardship
  • Lead and manage the development of funding proposals in collaboration with program staff; monitor performance of funding proposals against plans; provide assistance to ensure timely completion of follow‑up reports; and establish relationships with key constituents, organizations, corporations and foundations.
  • Manage existing and develop new stewardship programs, identifying and maximizing opportunities to strengthen the Foundation's relationship with donors and further their commitment to our mission.
Internal and External Engagement
  • Create and execute strategic engagement plans with key internal stakeholders and strategic external partners to increase revenue and/or raise awareness and provide critical exposure of SAE's STEM education, scholarship and awards programs.
  • Develop metrics and track and report progress related directly to Foundation goals.
Strategic Planning and Development
  • Participate in development planning and implementation sessions with internal stakeholders and the Foundation Committee and Trustees, as necessary.
  • Contributing to the achievement of SAE's organizational goals Additional projects as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Donor-centered approach and mindset. Develop and achieve detailed revenue and expense budgets for fundraising and event sponsorships.
  • Contribute to revenue budgets by achieving $1M+ annual revenue targets.
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to speak and write in a clear, concise and convincing manner for the intended audience.
  • Formidable negotiation and influencing skills with high emotional intelligence.
  • Demonstrable creativity (quality) and productivity (quantity) in written, digital, and visual communications.
  • To lead oneself, work collaboratively to determine priorities, and establish a successful team approach to achieve fundraising goals.
  • Extremely well-organized with the ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, make decisions and take calculated risks.
  • Proven knowledge of relationship building and development techniques.
  • Two years budget management experience.
  • Experience in education environment.
  • Five years of business experience working with high-level executives, campaign management and global organizations.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Work Environment: Primarily office-based with flexibility for remote work. Regular travel required for donor meetings, corporate engagement and events (approximately 20‑30% of time).
  • Schedule: Full-time, typically Monday‑Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends for fundraising events or donor engagements.
  • Physical Demands: Standard office activities (sitting, typing, phone calls) with light physical activity during event setup and execution.
  • Technology & Tools: Frequent use of CRM systems (Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite, virtual meeting platforms, and fundraising software.
  • Interaction: High level of external engagement with corporate partners, donors, and stakeholders; internal collaboration with Foundation team and SAE leadership.
  • Pressure & Deadlines: Fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent projects, requiring strong time management and adaptability to meet fundraising goals.
  • Travel: Regional and occasional national travel for donor cultivation, stewardship, and events.
