Job summary

Texas Farm Bureau Corporate Legal Department seeks a Staff Attorney to provide legal support across corporate matters for the Texas Farm Bureau group of companies.

You will assist governance, draft contracts and policies, handle employment and compliance issues, conduct due diligence, and support negotiations with external parties. Strong JD and Texas bar license required; experience in corporate law preferred.

Qualifications

• JD required from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in Texas.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative legal team.
• Experience in corporate law, commercial transactions, or regulatory compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support corporate governance activities, including preparation of corporate records and board materials.
• Draft and advise on general corporate matters, contracts, and policies.
• Assist with employment law issues and compliance with federal/state laws.
• Conduct internal investigations, document reviews, and due diligence projects.
• Perform legal research on federal, state, and local laws affecting the organization.
• Provide day-to-day legal support on operational, contractual, and compliance matters.
• Review and draft commercial agreements, vendor contracts, service agreements, and licenses.
• Lead or support negotiations with external parties on contract terms.
• Assist with development and maintenance of corporate policies and procedures.
• Support IP matters, payment systems, cybersecurity, data privacy, AI governance, and regulatory compliance.
