Job summary

American Jereh Corporation in Houston is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join our growing legal team. The successful candidate will manage contract review, drafting, and negotiation, supporting regulatory and commercial initiatives across our North American operations.

You will help maintain contract management processes, identify risks, and communicate complex legal concepts clearly to non-legal colleagues. A J.D.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in good standing in Texas.
  • 10 years of relevant legal experience with contract review, drafting and negotiation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough review, drafting, and analysis of a variety of contracts (NDAs, sales, vendor, commercial terms).
  • Assist in managing the contract lifecycle from request through negotiation, execution, and filing.
  • Identify legal, compliance, and business risks in contracts and provide summaries and recommendations.
  • Support maintenance and organization of the contract management system and legal files.

** Job Summary:**

We are seeking a motivated, meticulous and conscientious Corporate Counsel to join our growing legal team. The successful candidate will play a key supporting role in managing our contract review process and providing foundational legal support for various business operations. The legal council is a detail-oriented professional with solid experience in contract review who is eager to develop their skills and gain exposure to corporate, commercial and regulatory matters in a dynamic, international strategic environment.

** Key Responsibilities:**

  • Conduct thorough review, drafting, and analysis of a variety of contracts, including but not limited to non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), sales agreements, vendor contracts, and standard commercial terms.
  • Assist in managing the contract lifecycle from initial request through negotiation, execution, and filing.
  • Identify potential legal, compliance, and business risks within contractual documents and provide clear, concise summaries and recommendations.
  • Support the maintenance and organization of the contract management system and legal files.

** Qualifications & Requirements:**

  • Meticulous attention to detail and a conscientious work ethic with a commitment to high-quality output.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly to non-legal colleagues.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High degree of professional integrity and discretion.

** Minimum Requirements:**

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in good standing in Texas.
  • 10 years of relevant legal experience, with a demonstrated focus on contract review, analysis, drafting and negotiation.

** Preferred Requirements:**

  • Familiarity with U.S. – China cross-border business issues.
  • Mandarin Chinese language ability.
  • Law firm or in-house experience.
  • Oil and Gas experience.
  • Experience working with multicultural teams or international companies.
