Job summary

Onbe is seeking a Corporate Controller to lead the Accounting team, directing all operational accounting functions and consolidation for financial reporting. You will guide internal controls, staff development, and interaction with stakeholders to support strategic decisions.

You will oversee tax filings, audits, and cash management while driving continuous process improvements and system upgrades. This role requires strong leadership in a growing FinTech environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of corporate accounting experience with at least five years of management.
• CPA required (active or inactive).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting policies, and compliance.
• Extensive experience with corporate taxation is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations including billing, AR, AP, cash management, and financial reporting.
• Lead month/quarter/year-end close and prepare monthly financial statements.
• Provide metrics-based insights and drive operational improvements, including system integrations.
• Oversee tax filings (sales tax, business property tax) and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Establish controls to safeguard assets and document internal policies/procedures.
• Lead annual audits with external auditors and provide necessary information.
• Ensure timely cash collection and optimize monthly billing processes.
• Prepare monthly reporting packages for stakeholders and lenders.

Summary

As a member of Onbe’s Senior Leadership Team, the Corporate Controller will be a strategic leader responsible for leading all aspects of our Accounting team. As the Controller, you will plan and advise all operational accounting functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems, and guide departmental staff.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the operations of the accounting department and handling all accounting functions, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, and financial reporting.
• Lead month/quarter/year-end close process and preparation of monthly financial statements.
• Provide strategic insight into operational improvements through metrics-based analysis, including merging our two accounting platforms.
• Overseeing the preparation and filing of various tax filings, including but not limited to sales tax and business property tax filings.
• Establishing and maintaining controls to safeguard company assets; documenting and recommending improvements to internal financial policies and procedures.
• Leading annual audit with external auditors and related information as needed.
• Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques.
• Preparing monthly reporting packages to stakeholders and lenders.
• Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
• Effectively leading the accounting team by developing and coaching existing team members and hiring talent as needed.
• Managing both internal and external accountants in the preparation of tax returns.
• Collaborating and interacting with the business to foster effective partnerships.
• Driving continuous improvement in accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes.
• Ad-hoc requests and special projects, such as system upgrades/implementations, workflow automation, account trend and vendor cost analysis, etc.
• Required presence 2 days per week at the Conshohocken, PA location.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in corporate accounting with at least five years of management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field required.
• CPA required (active or inactive).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting policies, and compliance.
• Extensive experience with corporate taxation is strongly preferred.
• Experience in professional services, financial services, or wealth management is strongly preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on team development.
• Great Plains experience or similar ERP preferred.
• ERP implementation experience preferred.

Benefits

The base salary range for this position is budgeted for $200,000 to $230,000 with eligibility for an annual bonus.
