Job description

We are actively searching for a Controller for a private equity-backed, growing manufacturing client located in San Diego (North County). This role involves managing the monthly financial close process, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and US entity consolidations. The Controller will ensure efficient and accurate accounting processes and systems, report directly to the CFO, and provide leadership from an accounting/finance and operational perspective. Specific responsibilities include:

  1. Perform monthly financial closing, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
  2. Develop policies and procedures to maintain effective internal controls.
  3. Oversee accounting operations such as accounts payable, receivable, and payroll, including control systems and transaction processing.
  4. Oversee the company’s cost accounting functions.
  5. Support senior management with financial insights and explanations.
  6. Provide metrics for timely decision-making and process improvements.
  7. Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits.
  8. Prepare ad hoc reports as needed.

Qualifications: 8+ years of experience in accounting, reporting, and management, preferably in manufacturing. Must be highly motivated, a team player, with strong Excel skills. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent required.
