Job summary

West Fraser, a diversified wood products company with operations in the United States, is seeking a Corporate Accountant in Cordova, TN to provide analytical and accounting support across divisions. You will evolve into a subject matter expert, train others, and prepare reports for senior finance leadership.

Responsibilities include month-end close, account reconciliations, budgeting support with FP&A, and SOX control activities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
2+ Years’ experience in accounting or finance.
Prior experience working in Corporate Accounting a plus.
Plans to obtain CPA or already licensed, a plus.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; Oracle, JDE or comparable ERP system preferred.
Thorough understanding of GAAP/IFRS principles.
A high level of independence, accountability, teamwork, good judgement, and attention to detail in a fast-paced changing environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

Prepare journal entries and perform month-end, quarterly and annual accounting tasks.
Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and analytical reviews of income statement accounts.
Support FP&A in budgeting and forecasting and ensure actual spend is accounted for properly.
Perform SOX controls and provide support in audits.
Improve accounting processes and ensure compliance with company policies and SOX standards.
Special projects and other duties as assigned.
