Verita AI is building a job-matching platform that connects domain experts with high-paying data training opportunities at leading AI labs. Core Staff Engineer in San Francisco will own and evolve the architecture of scalable systems supporting researchers and engineers.

You will combine React front-end expertise with robust Python/Django back-end and cloud infrastructure, delivering reliable, measurable improvements in performance and security.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building production systems with ownership of architecture and delivery.
• 4+ years of React experience and deep understanding of React rendering model.
• Backend depth: Python and Django, PostgreSQL, APIs, schema evolution, background jobs, concurrency, and third-party integrations.
• Cloud and security: production AWS, infrastructure as code, IAM, observability, incident response, and safe deploys.

What We're Looking For

8+ years building production systems, with real ownership of architecture and delivery

4+ years of React experience and a deep understanding of React's rendering model

Backend depth: Python and Django, PostgreSQL, APIs, schema evolution, background jobs, concurrency, and third-party integrations

Cloud and security: production AWS, infrastructure as code, IAM, observability, incident response, and safe deploys

Modernization proof: you have simplified a live system and can show measurable reliability or speed gains

Nice to have

Experience working with inline styles backed by a shared design token system (not Tailwind or CSS modules)

Skills & Capabilities

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Strong analytical mindset with a bias toward data-driven decision-making

Comfortable operating in ambiguity and structuring problems from scratch
