Job summary

Core Physicians, part of Beth Israel Lahey Health, is a community‑based, multi‑specialty medical group serving the Seacoast region with 200+ providers across 20 specialties. The team supports patient‑centered care and collaboration across locations, with close ties to Exeter Hospital for seamless care.

The role involves clinical duties, instrument sterilization, and front‑desk tasks, with a standard Mon–Fri schedule and some after‑hours coverage.

Qualifications

  • CMA/RMA/CCMA certification or registration required or within 6 months of hire
  • BLS within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical duties such as pre‑visit work, obtaining vital signs, providing medication reconciliation, and assisting providers with examinations and/or procedures.
  • Clean and prepare instruments for sterilization; ensure exam rooms are stocked and ready.
  • Respond to patient portal messages the same day under standard work procedures.
  • Complete pre‑visit work, vaccinate patients, and process prescriptions using standing protocols.
  • May schedule pre‑admission tests or follow up with patients after procedures.
  • Provide daily front desk and clerical support as needed across offices.
  • Adhere to Core Physicians policies, confidentiality, safety, and infection control; participate in daily huddles.

Major Responsibilities
  1. Perform clinical duties such as pre‑visit work, obtaining vital signs, providing medication reconciliation, and assisting providers with examinations and/or procedures.
  2. Clean and prepare instruments for sterilization as required. Ensure exam rooms are cleaned and stocked.
  3. Following standard work procedures and messaging policy, respond to the patient phone portal message on the same day.
  4. Use standing protocols to complete pre‑visit work, close gaps in care, administrate vaccines, and complete prescription refills.
  5. May schedule pre‑admission and diagnostic testing and place follow‑up calls to patients after surgery.
  6. May perform any of the following daily administrative duties of the practice: greeting/check‑in/check‑out, scheduling patients, answering telephones, taking messages, organizing patient charts, filing, pulling and copying patient records, collection of co‑pays and patient balances, post‑payment and adjustment transactions, and balance daily journal.
  7. Maintains and adheres to established Core Physicians policies and procedures and federal regulations, including, patient confidentiality, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control standards; responsible for participating in the daily huddle and completing any actions required and working as a member of the care team to ensure proper communication between all team members.
  8. In some practices, the MA may perform scribing duties; accompany the provider into the patient examination room and accurately and efficiently document the encounter; order any labs, make referrals, and order prescriptions that have been recommended by the provider.
  9. Responsible for monitoring care team metrics to evaluate improvement metrics and outcome.
  10. Provides coverage for other Core Offices as needed, based on priorities, and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements: High School or GED For hires after 11/28/2011: CMA/RMA/CCMA certification/registration required or within 6 months of hire OR credentialed through a formal training program that includes testing of knowledge BLS within 6 months of hire

Pay Range: $20.00 - $29.49 The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
