Job summary

Chromalloy is seeking a Core Injection Mold Machine Operator to set up and run ceramic core injection molding equipment for aerospace components. This role involves inspections, ensuring quality, and maintaining safety standards on the shop floor.

You will work on a 4th shift, Friday-Sunday 5:00a-5:00p with a $3.00 shift differential, and participate in training and development programs while contributing to production goals and quality benchmarks.

Qualifications

  • English communication: able to read instructions and speak clearly.
  • High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude to operate equipment safely.
  • Familiarity with production processes and quality standards.
  • Willingness to work varying shifts and continue learning.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, prepare, and operate ceramic core injection molding machines.
  • Produce ceramic core shapes using approved processes.
  • Perform dimensional and visual inspections for quality.
  • Complete core forging operations and prep for processing.
  • Rotate across work areas as needed.
  • Monitor machine performance and identify issues.
  • Follow standard work and quality requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and adhere to 6S.

Job Summary

We're looking for a Core Injection Mold Machine Operator to operate ceramic core injection molding equipment used to create precision ceramic cores for aerospace components. This role supports production by operating machinery, performing inspections, preparing cores for processing, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Shift: 4th shift, Friday-Sunday 5:00a-5:00p

Shift Differential: $3.00

Training: During the training period, employees may be required to work a schedule outside of their regularly assigned shift to support hands‑on learning and development. Training is typically conducted Monday through Friday and may occur on first, second, or third shift based on business needs. Upon successful completion of training, employees will transition to their assigned shift.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Set up, prepare, and operate ceramic core injection molding machines and tooling.
  • Produce ceramic core shapes through the injection molding process.
  • Perform dimensional and visual inspections to verify product quality.
  • Complete core forging operations and prepare cores for thermal processing.
  • Rotate between work areas, including the Harrop area, as needed.
  • Monitor machine operation and identify potential quality or equipment issues.
  • Follow standard work, process documentation, and quality requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Support production goals while adhering to safety and 6S standards.
What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ months of manufacturing, machine operation, production, or related experience preferred.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in English, including speaking, reading, writing, and understanding work instructions.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to safely operate machinery and tooling.
  • Knowledge of production processes and quality standards.
  • Ability to monitor machine performance and recognize process issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform visual inspections.
  • Good hand dexterity and ability to perform repetitive, precision tasks.
  • Ability to work safely, follow procedures, and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Nice to Have
  • Injection molding experience.
  • Experience operating manufacturing equipment in a production environment.
  • Experience with quality inspections and measurement techniques.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Manufacturing environment with moving machinery, moderate noise, and occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
  • Regular standing, walking, bending, and use of hands for machine operation and inspection activities.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Close vision, color recognition, depth perception, and focus adjustment required for inspection and defect identification.
  • Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including hearing protection, safety glasses, hand protection, and safety-toed shoes.

This position may require work hours outside of the regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs. This may include work during evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Additional work hours are assigned based on business requirements. Non-exempt employees will be paid overtime in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.

The salary range for this position reflects a broad spectrum of experience levels. Individual compensation within the range is determined by multiple factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, job related skills, internal equity, and market conditions. We evaluate each candidate individually to ensure fair and competitive pay decisions.
