Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking an Employment Specialist to support Core Cadre staffing and daily districtwide coverage. You will coordinate assignments and payroll, monitor incentive payments, and build strong relationships with substitutes and school leaders to maximize coverage and improve fill rates.

The role is full-time and exempt, with responsibilities including daily payroll management, reporting from Frontline, and tier payment processing in SPS.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of three years’ payroll experience.
• Experience with CPS payroll systems (Kronos, SPS) preferred.
• Strong customer service experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily placement of CORE cadres and their payroll.
• Generate reports from automated sub placement system (Frontline).
• Submit sub teacher tier payments in the Supplemental Payroll System (SPS).
• Research and verify tier payment inquiries in a timely manner.
• Assign citywide cadres to daily assignments.
• Troubleshoot Frontline issues as needed.
• Provide customer service support via email, in-house, and phone.
