Job summary

Luxoft is seeking a skilled IT professional to support and enhance banking applications on IBM AS400/iSeries platforms. You will use COBOL, JCL, RPG/CLLE, SQL, and DB2 to maintain and improve mission-critical software, while ensuring rapid incident resolution and stable operations in a 24x7 environment.

The role involves handling batch processing, deployment activities, and collaboration with cross-functional teams and clients to uphold service levels and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience with Signature Application and AS400/iSeries
• Proficient in COBOL, JCL, and DB2 with strong programming, debugging, and analytical skills
• Experience with Batch Processing and production support in a banking domain
• Knowledge of iSeries concepts and libraries
• Experience supporting code migration and deployment across Dev/Test/Prod
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve high-priority production issues (P1/P2)

Worked on development, enhancement, and production support of business-critical banking applications on IBM AS400/iSeries and Signature Banking platforms. Utilized RPG, CLLE, COBOL, JCL, DB2, SQL, and IBM DB for application maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancements. Responsible for batch processing support, incident management, code deployments, and resolving critical production issues (P1/P2) following ITIL processes. Collaborated with cross-functional teams and clients to ensure application stability, service availability, and continuous process improvement in a 24x7 support environment.

Responsibilities

• Involvement in the areas of Development and production support
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of the application, including business rules.
• Application of ITIL processes and procedures through planning and fulfilling appropriate support requirements.
• First line support for production issues of a mission critical application.
• Maintain documentation of production issues, production run- books and assist in documenting operational best practices.
• Ability to liaise with the client on issues, changes, development cycles and planning the release content.
• Drive resolution of high-priority issues causing impacts to the client’s IT systems
• Providing input to client support plans for complex systems.
• Troubleshooting of issues impacting the supported applications.

SKILLS

Must have

• 5+ years of hands on experience on Signature application and AS400, RPG, CLLE, SQL and IBM DB.
• Good hands-on working experience on iSeries concepts, and iSeries libraries.
• Hands on experience with Batch Processing and troubleshooting
• Banking Domain application support knowledge
• Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2 with strong programming, debugging, and analytical skills.
• Experience in enhancing, and maintaining COBOL-DB2 programs, JCLs for large-scale enterprise applications.
• Experience of supporting code migration and deployment activities across various environments (Dev, Test, and Production).
• Develop and maintain business critical large-scale enterprise applications using COBOL, JCL and DB2
• Handle Conference Bridge during critical production downtime (P1 and P2 incidents)
• Good team player, willingness to support in shifts and weekends if required and working on 24X7 On-Call support.
