Job summary

F & M COMPANIES, INC. in Wisconsin is seeking a Plastic Dip Mold Set-Up Technician for 2nd shift to oversee full setup, operation, and monitoring of dip-molding equipment. You will ensure cycle verification, quality compliance, and productive workflow.

Responsibilities include mold and rack adjustments, caliper-based part measurements, documenting production and quality data, and training new staff while supporting continuous improvement in safety and 5S practices.

Qualifications

  • Experience reading blueprints, production schedules, and technical instructions.
  • Competent in using calipers, gauges, and basic math.
  • Experience with ERP System Entry.
  • Ability to perform mechanical setups and adjustments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Provide on-the-job training and leadership to new employees; cover breaks to maintain production flow.
  • Support continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and 5S.

Job Summary

The Plastic Dip Mold Set-Up Technician is responsible for the full setup, operation, and monitoring of plastic dip-molding related equipment. This role involves equipment adjustments, cycle verification, quality compliance, and productivity performance.

Compensation & Shift Details

We are currently seeking Set-Up Technicians for 2nd shift.

Salary range:

2nd Shift: $24.00 per hour ($22.00 until completion of probationary period)

Shift Schedules:
  • 2nd Shift: Monday-Thursday, 3:45 p.m.-2:15 a.m.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Perform set-up of plastic dip-molding equipment set-up.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to molds, racks, ovens, airflow, and equipment performance.
  • Conduct part measurements using calipers and other measurement devices to maintain quality standards.
  • Identify and report nonconforming product, defects, or equipment malfunctions.
  • Ability to read, understand, and adhere to process specifications.
  • Complete all production and quality documentation accurately and on time while ensuring materials, tools, labels, and finished product are properly staged, handled, and organized.
  • Provide on-the-job training, instruction, leadership and support to new employees while also offering break coverage for team members and maintaining smooth production flow.
  • Support continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and 5S while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
  • Must consistently demonstrate a strong work ethic, including initiative, accountability, and a commitment to high-quality performance.
  • Must demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent production flow and team coordination.
  • Experience reading blueprints, production schedules, and technical instructions.
  • Competent in using calipers, gauges, and basic math (including decimals and measurements).
  • Experience with ERP System Entry
  • Ability to perform mechanical setups and adjustments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Skills & Abilities
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capability.
  • Effective multitasking and situational prioritization.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with supervisors and teammates.
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to stand, reach, bend, twist, squat, push, pull, and climb throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a shared workspace.
Work Environment
  • Work areas may experience occasional temperature changes (warm, cool, or humid).
  • Some tasks may involve mild exposure to chemicals or fumes, with all necessary protective equipment provided.
  • Noise levels are typically low to moderate, and hearing protection is required and provided.
