About this position

OGS Machining is a CNC Job Shop that is currently looking for a full-time Quality Inspector position for 1st Shift Standard shop hours are (4) ten-hour days – Mon‑Thurs. 6:00am – 4:30pm, with occasional overtime on Fridays as needed.

OGS Machining is a medium-volume, production job shop whose average machining order is 100 - 500 pcs. 75% of our jobs are made from bar stock with the remaining 25% are machining castings or billet. All parts can easily be held in your hand, no cranes or material handling equipment are necessary. The majority of our CNC turning equipment is less than 4 years old, and state‑of‑the‑art.

OGS Industries is seeking a Quality Inspector at our OGS Machining location to ensure customer satisfaction through compliance of internal and external customer imposed quality control requirements.

  • Understand and follow OGS quality system requirements.
  • Review and understand customer requirements.
  • Provide documentation and results during Receiving, Layout, In-process, and Final Inspection.
  • Document SPC as needed to support quality efforts.
  • Follow Inspection Plan Documents (IPD’s) that provide a basis for making quality decisions in accordance with customer requirements and OGS procedures.
  • Use approved gauging and measurement techniques.
  • Properly use inspection equipment, product inspection techniques, system software, and follow established OGS quality system procedures, and work instructions.
  • Perform calibration activities and maintain calibration system as required.

Equipment Used

  • Wide variety of mechanical inspection‑type measuring equipment, (i.e., dial/digital micrometers, calipers, height gages, CMM, optical comparator, hardness instruments
Requirements

Skill Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent required. A minimum of five (5) years Quality Control/Assurance Inspection experience is required. Helpful if qualified candidate would be able to operate manual CMM and Optical Comparator.
  • Basic understanding of precision machining operations (milling and turning machines). Drawing interpretation including GD&T. Knowledge of non‑destructive and destructive testing and measuring techniques. Knowledgeable in the applications and requirements of ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF14949
