Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Combine Operator to run a multi-machine copper tubing line. You will measure, feed, cut, and label coiled or straight lengths from 1/4" to 7/8" diameter, and monitor production to meet standards and quotas.

Responsibilities include starting and stopping equipment with push buttons and touch screens, inspecting pieces for label placement and straightness, and assisting with jams, tool changes, and routine maintenance to keep throughput steady.

Qualifications

• Experience operating automated metal cutting/labeling lines.
• Ability to perform quality checks on finished pieces.

Responsibilities

• Operate push button, turn key, touch screen controls to engage and disengage the automatic line.
• Check completed pieces for quality including label placement, straightness, and diameter.
• Use hand saw or electric saw to cut stock; feed into rollers and through saw/shear area.
• Open door to remove jams; may require electric saw and hammer; apply up to 15 pounds force.
• Document hourly production with paper and pencil.
• Change out saw attachment and back 1-3 times per week; use overhead crane and wrenches.
• Place roll of barcodes in machine; replace wipers.
