Job summary

Niels Fugal Sons Company, LLC is seeking a Copper Splicer to connect and maintain copper wire networks for telecommunications, ensuring reliable phone and internet services by skillfully splicing and repairing connections.

You will perform aerial and underground splicing tasks, test equipment after installation, and ensure adherence to standards. Requires 6 months of copper splicing experience or 1 year in telecom, valid driver's license, and ability to pass a DOT physical.

Qualifications

• Six months of copper splicing experience or one year in telecommunications.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid state driver license with clean driving record.
• Must pass a DOT physical exam for medical clearance.

Responsibilities

• With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment post-installation.
• Ensure all splicing operations meet customer and industry standards.
• Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to the air.
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks.
• Document work with daily production reports, mark maps, and track material usage.
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll do

• With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground

• Ensure all splicing operations meet strict customer and industry standards
• Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks
• Document work performed through daily production reports, including marking up maps and keeping correct material usage records
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid State driver's license (cannot be considered Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
• Six months of copper splicing experience or one year of experience in the telecommunications industry

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, work alone in remote locations with arms above shoulder level, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally: work in confined spaces, use ladder, keyboard and mouse
