Modine Manufacturing Company in Grand Prairie, TX, is seeking a Copper Fabrication Operator to set up and run copper and steel pipe fabrication equipment, reading blueprints and ensuring parts meet print specifications.

You will perform first article inspections, monitor quality with measuring tools, and coordinate with engineering for program updates, while maintaining a safe, clean 5S workplace and meeting production goals.

Qualifikationen

Position Description

The Copper Fabrication Operator is responsible for setting up and operating all pipe fabrication equipment, including but not limited to band saws, plasma cutters, grooving machines, and pipe bending machines to produce precision copper and steel pipe parts safely, efficiently, and to engineering specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform all set up and operation of equipment in copper fabrication cells
• Operate all pipe fabrication equipment, including but not limited to band saws, plasma cutters, grooving machines, and pipe bending machines to produce precision copper and steel pipe parts safely, efficiently, and to engineering specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions
• Set up equipment to produce parts to print and complete first article inspections on parts
• Inspects parts throughout shift for adherence to prints, and makes adjustments as needed
• Coordinates with engineering to make changes or updates to programs as needed
• Works in a safe manner
• Keeps accurate inventory of tools
• Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly work area and adheres to 5S principles
• Performs basic cleaning and preventative maintenance on machines as required
• Performs other duties as required

Required Education & Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a pipe fabrication role
• Must be able to read blueprints and engineering diagrams
• Experience using a variety of measuring instruments to determine part quality
• Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs.
• Role may require travel for Company training

Preferred Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience working with band saws, tube benders, and/or plasma cutters

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
