Job summary

DSV - Global transport and logistics in Winchester, USA, seeks a Coordinator, Traffic Control to coordinate inbound and outbound shipments and maintain yard flow and inventory for operations.

This full-time role from 6pm to 6am on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule involves directing truck drivers, optimizing trailer placement, and ensuring paperwork aligns with the computer system while upholding safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred.
• Prefer 2-4 years work experience and/or other training.
• Strong PC skills along with working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Direct truck drivers to assure trailers are located in correct yard location.
• Promote efficiencies through optimal trailer placement location.
• Administer truck traffic and ensure shipping paperwork matches the computer system.
• Validate paperwork and trailer markings.
• Provide proper paperwork to truck drivers.
• Maintain accurate inventory records in the computer system.
• Assure safety requirements are maintained.
• Provide inspection of truck cargo/equipment as required.
• Maintain clean, organized, safe and secure office area.
• Manage and record daily production reports and yard checks with drivers and client representatives.
• Perform other projects and duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments and maintain yard flow and inventory for operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Direct truck drivers to assure trailers are located in correct yard location

5. Validate paperwork and trailer marking match
6. Provide proper paperwork to truck drivers
7. Maintain accurate inventory records in the computer system
8. Assure safety requirements are maintained
9. Provide inspection of truck cargo/equipment as required
10. Maintain clean, organized, safe and secure office area
11. Manage and record daily production reports and yard checks by working in close cooperation with drivers and client representatives
12. Perform other projects and duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred
• Prefer 2-4 years work experience and/or other training
• Strong PC skills along with working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Other Skills:

• Strong PC skills along with working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Ability to meet data entry standard of 7,000 keystrokes per hour. Able to use various computer systems (WMS, MRP, YMS etc.)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in an industrial environment
• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety vest, safety glasses, and any other PPE required by the safety analysis
• RF experience
• The associate is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Prolonged walking is required

Background Checks:

• Must be able to pass any federal/state/local government, airport, or company-required background checks, clearances, and/or drug and alcohol tests.

For this position, the expected base pay range is $20.50 - $25.63 Hourly. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
