Position is responsible for providing technical coding support for all the facilities within the healthcare system. The Coding Coordinator is responsible for providing coding expertise to all coding specialists during concurrent coding processes to ensure coding accuracy.
Education : High School Diploma or GED required; Associates degree in Health Information Management or any Healthcare Related Field preferred.
Licenses/Certifications : One of the following licenses is required:
Inpatient: Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Coding Associate (CCA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) Coding Certification(s) from American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or American Association of Professional Coders (AAPC) required.
Outpatient: Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or relevant Coding Certification(s) from American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or American Association of Professional Coders (AAPC) required.
Physician Organization: Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), CertifiedMedicalCoder(CMC), or relevant Coding Certification(s) from American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or American Association of Professional Coders (AAPC) required.
