Job description

The Coordinator, Research Data plays an important role in supporting clinical research activities that advance this mission. Within the GI Med Oncology department, the Coordinator, Research Data provides administrative and patient care support for clinical research studies focused on gastrointestinal malignancies. The Coordinator, Research Data coordinates protocol-related documentation, data management activities, study support functions, and communication across internal and external research stakeholders. The Coordinator, Research Data helps ensure research data integrity, protocol compliance, and timely study operations.

The ideal candidate will possess education, experience, and certifications that support clinical research coordination, research data management, protocol administration, and collaboration with research teams. Responsibilities
Data Collection & Reporting
  • Develop and maintain processing and tracking systems for all protocol-related paperwork
  • Utilize knowledge of medical terminology to support research documentation activities
  • Enter study data accurately and in a timely manner
  • Provide research reports and status updates as requested
  • Follow institutional, state, and federal regulations related to study initiation, conduct, and termination
  • Assist with data analysis activities for research studies
  • Organize study data and documentation for monitoring visits and audits
  • Review records before submission to pharmaceutical companies, federal agencies, internal groups, and other institutions
Protocol Support
  • Monitor patient compliance while on study under the supervision of the research nurse and physician investigator
  • Address protocol and study‑related queries in a timely manner
  • Read and become familiar with protocol‑specific guidelines and procedures
  • Support care coordination activities related to patients with gastrointestinal malignancies
  • Assist with maintenance of protocol workflows and documentation processes
Scheduling & Coordination
  • Schedule sample collections according to protocol requirements and study schemas
  • Communicate with study coordinators regarding return appointments, testing, and physician visits
  • Maintain schedules to ensure timely submission of protocol data
  • Utilize electronic and/or manual calendars to coordinate research activities
  • Assist research nurses with patient registration and randomization processes
Communication & Administrative Support
  • Coordinate communication regarding research studies between external organizations, internal groups, and department leadership
  • Assist with dissemination of data resulting from research protocols
  • Support completion of data forms and treatment records
  • Maintain accurate study‑related documentation and records
  • Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION
  • Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree
Work Experience
  • Required: Two years related experience or no experience required with preferred degree.
