Job summary

The Orchard invites a Coordinator, Publishing Services to join our New York team and support day-to-day publishing operations for a portfolio of client labels. You will onboard clients, demo technology, register songs, and handle publishing statements with a focus on accuracy and timely responses.

To succeed, you should have strong Excel and Google Suite skills, experience with music publishing, and an ability to manage large datasets in a fast-paced environment.

• Ingest new client catalogs into Orchard databases
• Execute quality assurance on song metadata delivered by clients
• Coordinate with client teams and Sony Music Publishing affiliates to track catalog registration and client development initiatives
• Support day-to-day activity for assigned client base and respond to ad-hoc inquiries

The Orchard has an immediate opening for a full-time Coordinator, Publishing Services. This New York based position will report to the Associate Director and will play an integral role in executing all initiatives related to The Orchard’s Publishing service. The Coordinator will function as the day-to-day resource for an assigned portion of the client base and will be the primary support to their publishing business. You will work closely with independent labels from the client onboarding stage, including demoing the Orchard’s Publishing technology systems, to the registration of songs at publishing sources and payees worldwide, including responding to ad-hoc client inquiries.

About you:

You have a solid understanding of music publishing and are comfortable interfacing with clients. Strong command of large datasets, a keen eye for detail and a love for all types of music is a must.

What You'll Do:

• Office- first role, in office 4 days a week.
• Oversee the Publishing Administration onboarding process for clients and field inquiries related to song registrations, licensing opportunities and publishing accounting statements
• Facilitate demos with clients of The Orchard’s Publishing Service tech solutions
• Ingest new client catalogs into Orchard databases
• Execute quality assurance processes with respect to song metadata delivered by clients
• Work closely with our client teams and the Sony Music Publishing affiliate offices to facilitate and track communication regarding catalog registration and client development and creative initiatives

Who You Are:

• Previous working experience in the music industry with a focus is music publishing services preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Extensive working knowledge and experience using Excel and Google Suite
• Comfortability managing and reviewing large datasets
• Highly organized with an ability to track and prioritize a high volume of projects and adjust to changing priorities
• Innovative problem solver with a detail-oriented work ethic and a desire to build and maintain new methods and solutions for organizing and tracking complex systems and relationships
