About Hopscotch Primary Care

At Hopscotch Primary Care, we believe great healthcare should be accessible to all people across all communities. Today, almost 20% of Americans live in a rural community, yet only 11% of physicians practice in those same communities. We are on a mission to transform healthcare in rural America. We provide high-quality primary care tailored to meet the needs of our patients through our robust care model and comprehensive care team, delivering care in our clinics, and across settings, and wrapping resources around the patients who need them most.

Our patients and the care teams who serve them sit at the center of everything we do at Hopscotch. Hopscotch Primary Care takes a team approach to serve patient needs and provide the best care possible. Our goal is to provide the care each of us would want for ourselves or for our family members, in the right setting, and at the right time.

Today, we are serving thousands of patients in our value-based care model and the number is growing every day. If you want to bring your experience, skill and passion to make a lasting impact in healthcare, we'd like to meet you.

About the Role

Hopscotch Primary Care is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and service-oriented People Operations Coordinator to support both our employees and our Chicago office.

This role sits within People Operations and will own a broad range of recurring HR coordination and administrative responsibilities throughout the employee lifecycle—from pre-employment and onboarding through employee changes, compliance tracking, engagement initiatives, and offboarding. The role will also take ownership of the day-to-day operations of our Chicago office, ensuring it is organized, welcoming, well-equipped, and ready to support our team.

The ideal candidate is someone who loves keeping things organized, follows through on details, builds efficient processes, and is comfortable being the person others rely on to get things done. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in our Chicago office.

What You'll Do
People Operations
  • Manage and maintain new hire processes: Administer background checks, drug screens, MVRs, onboarding requirements, I-9 tracking, orientation communications, and coordination across HR, IT, training, and hiring managers.
  • Support employee lifecycle processes: Manage employee records, coordinate routine employee changes and offboarding activities, and maintain related systems, trackers, and documentation.
  • Manage People Operations communications: Maintain the HR inbox, employee newsletter, and other recurring employee communications.
  • Support employee experience and culture: Coordinate recognition, engagement, and culture initiatives and help create a positive employee experience.
  • Maintain People Operations resources: Keep org charts, job descriptions, onboarding materials, employee resources, and other HR documentation current.
  • Improve processes: Identify opportunities to make People Operations processes more organized, efficient, and consistent.
Chicago Office Operations
  • Own day-to-day office operations: Ensure the Chicago office is organized, stocked, clean, and professional, and serve as the welcoming face of the office for employees, vendors, and visitors.
  • Manage office logistics and budget: Coordinate supplies, mail, deliveries, conference rooms, building access, visitors, catering, vendors, and other office needs.
  • Maintain office processes and resources: Create and maintain an office playbook and ensure employees have clear information about office procedures and logistics.
  • Support office culture and events: Coordinate team lunches, happy hours, and other in-person employee experiences.
  • Partner across teams: Work closely with People Operations, Finance, IT, and other teams to support employee and office needs.
About You

You would be a great fit for this position if you have 2+ years of experience in HR coordination, People Operations, office operations, administrative coordination, or a similar role and enjoy being the person who keeps things moving behind the scenes. Other needs for this role:

  • Can manage a high volume of recurring tasks without losing track of details or deadlines.
  • Proactive and takes ownership, with the ability to identify problems and find solutions independently.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with a service-oriented approach.
  • Comfortable handling confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Familiar with technology and able to quickly learn new systems and processes; experience with HRIS, Microsoft Office, Teams, or SharePoint is a plus.
  • Enjoys creating order, structure, and consistency in a growing organization.
  • Brings a positive, team-oriented attitude and contributes to a welcoming workplace experience.
