Job Description:

Responsible for the procurement and supervision of ushers for all theatrical performances open to the public. Oversees and supervises the opening night receptions and the front of house operations for the Trinity Theater season productions. Responsible for maintenance of Ruth Taylor Theater Box Office business records.

Job Duties
  1. Responsible for the procurement and supervision of ushers for all theatrical performances open to the public, including the implementation and maintenance of lobby and foyer displays. Oversees Opening Night receptions and personally greets the public at all performances. Handles waiting lists and late arrivals efficiently, and manages customer service issues before, during, and after performances. Supervises the Ruth Taylor Theater Box Office procedures, including training and oversight of personnel in greeting the public.
  2. Oversees and supervises front-of-house operations for Trinity Theater season productions.
  3. Responsible for publicity and promotion of theatre programs and presentations, including designing posters and programs for theatre productions.
  4. Maintains Ruth Taylor Theater Box Office business and attendance records.
  5. Handles audition notices, written procedures, and audition cards.
  6. Procures rights and scripts for productions.
  7. Manages donations for Trinity Theatre.
Additional Duties
  • Collaborates with other employees in the spirit of teamwork and collegiality, demonstrating confidence, patience, and integrity to provide professional leadership during emergencies.
  • Adheres to all Trinity University policies and guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Education

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree or equivalent from a four-year college or university.
Experience

Required:

  • 1 to 6 months of experience.
  • Experience in fine arts activities, especially theatre productions; box office and house management; public relations and publicity.
  • Experience supervising personnel.

Preferred:

  • 1 to 3 years of experience.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Required:

  • Knowledge of theatre front-of-house procedures.
  • Knowledge of cash handling, box office, and ticketing procedures.
  • Ability to work with a diverse staff and theatrical crew.
  • Excellent copywriting and proofing skills.
  • Outgoing and accommodating personality.
  • High level of organizational skills.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Paintshop Pro, InDesign, and other design software.
  • Marketing background.
