Saginaw Valley State University is seeking a Coordinator of Alumni Communication to support the Executive Director of Alumni Relations by coordinating communications, digital content, and data initiatives that engage alumni and students and enhance the University image.

Job Description:

Salary Range: $48,000–$52,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience .

JOB SUMMARY: The Coordinator of Alumni Communication supports the Executive Director of Alumni Relations by coordinating communications, digital content, and constituent data initiatives that advance the mission of the Alumni Relations Office, engage alumni and students, and enhance the University image.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build, maintain, and manage Alumni Website to strengthen alumni engagement.
  • Coordinate the Alumni Relation’s database and collaborate with other University offices with use of the CRM software.
  • Coordinate data initiatives, database management, and on-going CRM maintenance.
  • Execute writing, editing, production, and publication of all communications for the Alumni Relations Office. (Newsletters, mailings, email, social media, etc.)
  • Create and maintain all communication tracks for individualized segments of the SVSU Alumni population.
  • Assist with annual management and implementation of Commencement ceremonies.
  • Assist with management and implementation of Alumni Relations events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

General supervision is received from the Executive Director of Alumni Relations.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED :

No formal supervision is exercised. The position may provide task guidance to student employees or temporary staff as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Relevant experience in alumni relations, client development, student affairs, enrollment management, or customer service-related fields.
  • Ability to think critically, plan strategically, and prioritize actions as they relate to the University’s goals.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong computer literacy including word processing, spreadsheets, and database programs.
  • Experience and ability to positively interact with all members of the campus community.
  • Ability to utilize technical advances in alumni and development relations.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior administrators, staff, and volunteers.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodations.
  • Willing to work evening and weekend hours when needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge or a comparable advancement CRM, email marketing platforms, website content management, social media management, and communication development.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:

  • Duties are generally performed indoors, with occasional outdoor and seasonal activities.
  • Some evening and weekend work and intermittent travel are required.
  • All work associated with this role must be performed within the state of Michigan.
