Job summary

Community North Rehabilitation Hospital is hiring a part-time Educator and Infection Preventionist (RN) to lead education programs and the hospital-wide Infection Control Plan. The role emphasizes clinical orientation, data analysis, and collaboration with leadership to prevent infections.

The Educator/IPC will coordinate educational activities, ensure compliance, and serve as a subject matter expert on infection prevention across the hospital.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited BSN/ADN or Nursing Diploma program; Bachelor's or master's strongly preferred.
  • Current state licensure as Registered Nurse.
  • Demonstrated experience planning, coordinating, evaluating and/or directing educational activities of clinical personnel.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a bedside RN.
  • CPR/BCLS certification. ACLS preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates education programs including clinical orientation of new employees.
  • Develops the annual hospital-wide Infection Control Plan; evaluates the program and reports findings to leadership.
  • Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care.
  • Drives and owns Infection Control Plan and hospital activities.
  • Analyzes infection data, creates plans to reduce and prevent infections.
  • Acts as the content expert on Infection Prevention and Control for the hospital.
  • Develops and evaluates the Infection Control Plan; reports findings to leadership and committees.
  • Identifies potential sources of nosocomial infection and implements actions to eliminate sources.
  • Assists in identifying, monitoring and controlling outbreaks of nosocomial infection.

Position Summary:

Assumes responsibility and accountability for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of education programs including clinical orientation of new employees. Develops the annual hospital wide Infection Control Plan; evaluates the effectiveness of the program and reports findings to leadership and appropriate committees. Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.



  • Drives and assumes ownership of Infection Control Plan and activities in the hospital.

  • Exercises independent judgement in analyzing and trending infection data and creates a plan to reduce and prevent infections.

  • Functions as the content expert on Infection Prevention and Control for the hospital including determining course of action, planning, implementing, and ensuring compliance to the plan.

  • Develops the annual hospital wide Infection Control Plan; evaluates the effectiveness of the program and reports findings to leadership and appropriate committees.

  • Identifies potential sources of nosocomial infection and implements actions to eliminate the source; and evaluates infection data to distinguish between nosocomial and community-acquired infection.

  • Assists in identifying, monitoring, and controlling outbreaks of nosocomial infection among patient and hospital personnel.


Qualifications:


  • Graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program. Bachelor's or master's strongly preferred.

  • Current state licensure as Registered Nurse.

  • Demonstrated experience planning, coordinating, evaluating and/or directing educational activities of clinical personnel.

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a bedside RN

  • CPR/BCLS certification. ACLS preferred.
