COORDINATOR II, SPECIAL EDUCATION

QUALIFICATIONS:

REPORTS TO: Administrator as assigned

SUPERVISES: Staff as assigned

FUNCTION: To provide leadership in developing, implementing, coordinating and evaluating the District's special education program in assigned area of responsibility

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists schools and teachers in developing quality programs for special education pupils
  • Coordinates development of individualized education program for students at assigned schools, non-public agencies and non-public schools
  • Provides direct support relating to services to school sites and district personnel
  • Provides staff development training necessary to meet needs of special education pupils
  • Evaluates teachers, instructional aides and clerical staff as assigned
  • Completes necessary state, SELPA/district and department reports
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

SALARY: $133,690 - $162,916 annually, 199 work days (max. salary includes educational, and longevity stipends)

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the District's "Improvement of Professional Services" handbook, Board Policies and Procedures and consistent with collective bargaining agreements when applicable

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and the possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle operator's license. Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act.
