Qualifications

  • Develop and maintain a grant and report calendar.
  • Provide guidance to ensure post‑award reporting requirements are met.
  • Make decisions related to the OSPR in the absence of the Director.
  • Manage office operations and portal site.
  • Perform other duties as assigned per mission.

Position Summary

The Coordinator functions as a grant officer and provides assistance in carrying out the mission of the Office of Sponsored Programs and Research ( OSPR ). This position aids in securing external funding opportunities, educating Ursuline College Campus and the Gannon University community about grant procedures, assisting them in the planning, preparation, and submission of grant proposals. The Coordinator supports all phases of grant operations, including clerical and administrative duties. Must be able to support and promote the University’s Mission.

  • Monitor government and foundation websites for funding opportunities. Create and disseminate solicitation summaries to align internal interests with opportunities.
  • Work independently with internal and external stakeholders as part of proposal writing teams. Collaborate with Ursuline College Campus leadership, faculty, and staff regularly.
  • Prepare and submit sponsor forms and lead overall proposal submission to ensure a complete, compliant, and cohesive submission package.
  • Provide grant education and training for faculty/staff through live and/or recorded sessions.
  • Maintain user access and authorization for grant application portals including grants.gov, research.gov, and foundational portal submission sites.
  • Maintain file of institutional documents including, but not limited to, board of trustee list, 501c3 status, indirect cost rate agreements, facilities statements and data management plans.
  • Develop and maintain a grant and report calendar to track and schedule grant proposals, progress reports, and internal and external reports.
  • Provide guidance and follow-up to ensure post-award reporting requirements are met, using the office’s tracking system.
  • Make decisions related to the OSPR in the absence of the Director.
  • Manage office operations and maintains portal site.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope, responsibility and requirements of the position and informed by Gannon’s Mission and shared values.

Required Qualifications

Education: A bachelor’s degree is required.

Experience: Two or more years of grant-related experience.

Must possess the following skills: excellent written, verbal, proofreading and organizational skills; the ability to read written instructions and procedure manuals; the ability to enter data into records, logs and websites with accuracy; the ability to prioritize responsibilities, seek direction regarding courses of action; and the ability to research and compile qualitative and quantitative data. The ability to work independently and manage projects. The ability to be effective while reporting to a supervisor and divisional team that are positioned across multiple campuses.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in higher education is preferred.
