COORDINATOR, COLLEGE AND CAREER DIVISION

DESCRIPTION

The Coordinator, College and Career Division provides leadership and coordination for Career Technical Education (CTE), College and Career Readiness, work-based learning, and related programs. The Coordinator supports program implementation, data management, professional learning, and continuous improvement while collaborating with school sites, district departments, postsecondary institutions, industry partners, and community organizations.

The Coordinator reports to the Director of the College and Career Division and provides direction and supervision to assigned staff, including the Teacher Specialist(s) supporting internships, apprenticeships, and other work-based learning initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education

Master's Degree; training in school administration, educational programs, Career Technical Education, or a related field.

Credential

Note: If the candidate has not successfully completed an Administrative Services Credential, the candidate, if selected, will be required to complete their Administrative Services Credential within two school years, and no later than the completion of the 2029-2030 school year.

Experience

Successful teaching, counseling, or administrative experience at the K-12 level. Experience with Career Technical Education, College and Career Readiness, work-based learning, program data, or related educational programs preferred.

WORK YEAR

The current work year is 205 work days, to be worked between July 1 and June 30.

SALARY SCHEDULE

Placement on the Certificated Management Salary Schedule, depending on education and experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Coordinates the implementation and continuous improvement of Career Technical Education, College and Career Readiness, work-based learning, and related programs.
  • Provides leadership, direction, and support to assigned staff, including Teacher Specialists responsible for internships, apprenticeships, pre-apprenticeships, and other work-based learning initiatives.
  • Coordinates and monitors internship, apprenticeship, pre-apprenticeship, and other work-based learning programs, including program requirements, documentation, partnerships, and student participation.
  • Collaborates with school sites, postsecondary institutions, workforce development organizations, industry partners, and community agencies to expand opportunities for students.
  • Oversees the collection, validation, and reporting of CTE and College and Career Readiness data, including pathway participation, completion, industry certifications, dual enrollment, and work-based learning.
  • Coordinates required state and federal reporting, including CALPADS, CTEIG, GSPP, Perkins V, and other applicable grant and program requirements.
  • Collaborates with Educational Technology and Information Systems (ETIS) to support data integrity, reporting systems, and accurate student and program records.
  • Develops reports, dashboards, presentations, and other data summaries to monitor program participation, student outcomes, and program effectiveness.
  • Provides individual and small-group instructional coaching using a collaborative, non-evaluative model.
  • Facilitates instructional coaching cycles, including pre-conferences, classroom observations, feedback, and reflection.
  • Models effective instructional practices through demonstration lessons and co-teaching.
  • Supports teachers in developing rigorous, standards-aligned, and scaffolded instruction that meets the needs of diverse learners, including English Learners and students with diverse learning needs.
  • Assists teachers in integrating technology to enhance instruction and student engagement.
  • Provides professional learning and resources related to evidence-based instructional practices, Career Technical Education, and emerging educational trends.
  • Provides technical assistance and professional learning to administrators, teachers, counselors, and staff regarding program implementation, data systems, reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Supports annual program reviews and continuous improvement efforts through analysis of student and program data.
  • Prepares reports and provides updates to the Director of the College and Career Division and other District leadership regarding assigned programs, initiatives, and grants.
  • Leads special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
  • Knowledge of Career Technical Education, College and Career Readiness, work-based learning, apprenticeships, and related educational programs.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws, regulations, reporting requirements, and grant requirements related to CTE and College and Career Readiness.
  • Knowledge of instructional coaching, professional learning, and evidence-based instructional practices.
  • Knowledge of student information systems, educational data platforms, and data reporting processes.
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret student and program data and communicate findings clearly.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with students, staff, administrators, postsecondary institutions, industry partners, workforce organizations, and community agencies.
  • Ability to provide clear direction, technical assistance, and support to staff.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communication.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and across multiple departments and school sites.
  • Ability to use computer-based programs, student information systems, data platforms, and digital communication tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Under the direction of the Director of the College and Career Division.
