Job summary

North Mississippi Health Services is seeking a capable care team member to support patients in the Emergency Department and related settings. This role emphasizes timely coordination of care, patient education, and compassionate interaction with patients and families.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma (associates preferred), at least 2 years in a clinical setting, and solid computer skills. Strong communication and teamwork are essential to deliver excellent patient experiences.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required; Associates Degree, preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a clinical setting; required.
• Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel); required.
• Excellent organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills; required.
• Excellent human relations skills; required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; required.
• Working knowledge of the development of adolescent, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients; required

Responsibilities

• Orients and educates patients and families about ER policies and procedures.
• Greets individuals in a positive and caring manner.
• Relays needs and concerns of patients' families to staff.
• Provides emotional support to family members as needed.
• Serves as a liaison between care personnel and patients/families.
• Maintains waiting room supplies in a cost-effective manner.
• Adheres to NMHS/NMMC policies and guidelines.
• Complies with local/state/federal policies

Coordinates

• Effectively and efficently coordinates care to patients by comitoring and evaluating interdisciplinary care Orients/Educates:
• Orients and educates patients/family members/vistors to the Emergency Room, policies, and procedures. Customer Service/Customer Relations:
• Greeets individuals in a positive and caring manner
• Effectively and efficiently relay the needs and concerns of patient\'s famiy members/vistors to staff.
• Provides emotional support to family members as needed
• Receives requists and provides information to patient/family member as requested
• Assists in the resolutions of patient/family member issues/problems Communication:
• Promotes effective communication amongst care team, treating clinicians, patients, family members, etc. Liaison:
• Serves as a liaison between patient care personnel and patients/families/visitors to ensure effective communication/interaction
• Inventory:
• Assesses and maintains waiting room supplies in a cost-effective manner
• Regulation:
• Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines
• Complies with appropriate Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statues
