Job summary

Center for Early Success seeks an Early Learning Specialist to support Ready Region Southside programs with technical assistance, professional development, and quality improvement activities across Virginia's Birth to 5 system.

You will partner with providers and community partners, conduct CLASS observations, host professional development, and coordinate regional initiatives including data collection and coaching.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and ethical practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to travel throughout the region.
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.

  • Conduct provider consultations through on-site visits, phone, and email.

  • Conduct CLASS observations and support observer needs throughout the region.
  • Host and/or facilitate professional development and training.
  • Coordinate self-study groups, roundtable discussions, and other opportunities based on regional needs.
  • Attend required meetings, conferences, and training events.

About the Position

The Early Learning Specialist supports early childhood programs throughout Ready Region Southside (RRSS) by providing technical assistance, professional development, consultation, and quality improvement support. This position works with providers and community partners to support Virginia Quality Birth to 5 (VQB5) activities and promote high-quality learning experiences for young children.

What You'll Do

  • Knowledge of CLASS and current Observer Certification.
  • Knowledge of Ready Regions and Virginia's early childhood system, including VPI and Head Start.
