Job summary

OBR Cooling Towers, LLC in the San Jose, CA region is seeking Cooling Tower Cleaning Technicians to join our on‑the‑road team. You will clean and maintain both package and field‑erected cooling tower equipment under the supervision of Foremen and Superintendents to ensure safe, efficient operation on projects across the United States.

• Negative 10-panel drug test and breath alcohol test completed.
• Valid driver's license and proof of U.S. citizenship.
• Satisfactory background check and DISA screen (score 2 or less).
• OSHA 10 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning tasks with precision and attention to detail to ensure equipment quality.
• Proficient in the safe operation of power washers, with knowledge of spray head selection and usage.
• Follow instructions from supervisors to support safe, efficient, and timely project completion.
• Uphold safety, efficiency, and quality standards throughout all phases of work.
• Perform pre- and post-treatment activities, including accurate measurement of free chlorine levels in cooling tower circulating water.
• Complete Task Hazard Analysis (THA) cards and safety documentation on schedule.
• Read and apply MSDS information; practice proper chemical handling techniques.
• Work at heights with 100% tie-off above 4 feet.
• Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the Superintendent, Field Managers, Area Managers, or Foreman.

OBR Cooling Towers, LLC is hiring Cooling Tower Cleaning Technicians to join our team in the San Jose , CA region. We’re looking for motivated individuals who enjoy frequent travel and thrive in a fast-paced, on-the-road work environment.

As a Cooling Tower Cleaning Technician (CTCT), you’ll play a critical role in maintaining and cleaning both package and field-erected cooling tower equipment. You’ll work under the guidance of OBR Foremen and Superintendents to ensure our systems operate safely and efficiently.

ROLES/TASKS OF THE POSITION

• Perform cleaning tasks with precision and attention to detail to ensure equipment quality.
• Proficient in the safe operation of power washers, with knowledge of appropriate spray head selection and usage.
• Follow instructions from supervisors to support safe, efficient, and timely project completion.
• Uphold OBR’s standards of safety, efficiency, and quality throughout all phases of work.
• Work diligently to maintain high cleaning standards without compromising project timeliness or safety.
• Perform pre- and post-treatment activities, including accurate measurement of free chlorine levels in cooling tower circulating water.
• Demonstrate professionalism, a positive attitude, and technical competence in daily duties.
• Complete Task Hazard Analysis (THA) cards and other safety documentation accurately and on schedule.
• Read, interpret, and apply information from Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS); practice proper chemical handling techniques.
• Perform work at heights while maintaining 100% tie-off when above 4 feet.
• Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the Superintendent, Field Managers, Area Managers, or Foreman.

PREREQUISITES & REQUIREMENTS

• Negative 10 panel urinalysis and breath alcohol test
• Valid Driver's License and proof of U.S. Citizenship
• Satisfactory background check
• Score of 2 or less in a DISA background screen
• OSHA 10 Certification (preferred)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of this role, with reasonable accommodation provided as needed. Requirements include:

• Lift up to 50 lbs., bend, climb, and stoop as needed.
• Perform keyboarding/typing and reading from screens or paper.
• Work outdoors or in plant environments with exposure to weather, heat, noise, and nearby hazardous chemicals.
