Job summary

Taher, Inc. is a family-owned food service management company serving K-12 school meals, corporate dining, and more. Our team in Madison, Alabama prepares meals from scratch using fresh ingredients to delight guests.

Taher is recognized as a Top 25 Food Service Management Company by Food Management Magazine. We are hiring a Cook to join our team on 1st and 2nd shifts. Responsibilities include following recipes, maintaining quality, HACCP-compliant inventory, and ensuring timely service.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience preferred.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to adapt and change in a fast-paced environment.
• Do simple arithmetic.
• Able to follow oral and written directions.
• Be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Dependable, Punctual.
• Ability to maintain a professional appearance.
• Ability to follow all safe food handling requirements.

Responsibilities

• Follow standardized recipes and write menus.
• Ensure all meals meet quality standards, are correctly prepared and within acceptable time limits.
• Manage ordering, receiving, storing and inventory control of all perishable products following HACCP standards.
• Control waste.
• Use time management to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Performs additional related duties as assigned by leadership.

• Following standardized recipes and writing menus
• Ensuring all meals meet quality standards, are correctly prepared and within acceptable time limits
• Managing ordering, receiving, storing and inventory control of all perishable products following specific procedures and HACCP standards
• Controlling waste
• Using time management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Performs additional related duties as assigned by leadership
