Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services in Purchase, NY is seeking a Cook Supervisor for a full-time role. You will supervise food-service staff, enforce safety and quality standards, and ensure meals are prepared and served to meet policy and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include training employees, planning and directing work, monitoring inventory and waste, and maintaining proper portion control according to approved recipes and HACCP guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Prior cooking experience required.
  • Ability to perform essential functions with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • May require Florida Level 2 background screening for certain positions.

  • Operate and clean equipment in accordance with department procedures after each use.
  • Store, label, and date food items according to policy; maintain established food rotations to minimize spoilage and waste.
  • Follow HACCP guidelines to ensure quality and safety of food supply.
  • Operate food‑service equipment safely and according to established policies and procedures.
  • Help serve meals; remain present during scheduled meal periods to receive customer comments and feedback.

Job Summary

Summary: Directly supervises food-service associates in accordance with policies, procedures and applicable laws.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Uses approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
  • Operates and cleans equipment in accordance with department procedures after each use.
  • Stores, labels and dates food items according to policy; maintains established food rotations in storage in order to minimize spoilage and waste.
  • Follows HACCP guidelines to ensure quality and safety of food supply.
  • Operates food-service equipment in a safe manner and according to established policies and procedures.
  • Helps serves meals; remains present during scheduled meal periods to receive customer comments and feedback.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
