Job summary

Morrison Healthcare, a Compass Group company, is hiring a Cook Supervisor at University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Cincinnati, OH. This full-time role oversees food-service staff to ensure quality, safety, and patient satisfaction in a hospital dining operation.

You should have prior cooking and supervisory experience; weekends and holidays may be required. We offer comprehensive benefits for full-time and part-time teammates, with competitive pay ranging from $20.00 to $22.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Prior cooking and supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to supervise and train staff.
• Flexibility to work weekends/holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Trains employees; plans, assigns and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines associates; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
• Advises management of purchasing requirements with focus on minimizing waste and avoiding shortages.
• Uses approved recipes and production standards to ensure quality, serving temperatures and portion control.
• Operates and cleans equipment per department procedures.
• Stores, labels and dates food items; maintains food rotations to minimize spoilage.
• Follows HACCP guidelines to ensure quality and safety of food supply.
• Operates food-service equipment safely and per policies.
• Helps serves meals; remains present during meals to receive customer feedback.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Summary: Directly supervises food-service associates in accordance with policies, procedures and applicable laws.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Trains employees; plans, assigns and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines associates; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
• Advises management of purchasing requirements with a focus on minimizing waste and avoiding product shortages.
• Uses approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
• Operates and cleans equipment in accordance with department procedures after each use.
• Stores, labels and dates food items according to policy; maintains established food rotations in storage in order to minimize spoilage and waste.
• Follows HACCP guidelines to ensure quality and safety of food supply.
• Operates food-service equipment in a safe manner and according to established policies and procedures.
• Helps serves meals; remains present during scheduled meal periods to receive customer comments and feedback.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
